Who runs this site
Purple MDM is a Purple product and this is its product site, run by Purple, the company behind Purple WiFi and Purple Access. Purple MDM manages Macs, iPhones, iPads, Windows PCs, Linux machines, Android devices and Chromebooks, and feeds device health into Purple Access, which runs open, secure and xPSK networks on one platform; see the Purple Access site for the network your devices join. This site covers what Purple MDM does, how to set it up and how it compares with the way other MDMs work.

Purple has run WiFi and network access control for venues, schools, offices and public sector estates since 2012, and Purple MDM is built by the same team. Every customer's data is kept apart from every other's at the database level, stays in its region (Europe or the United States), and encryption keys are held in a cloud key management service and rotated. Customers can export or delete all their data on request. Every capability published here is in the product; what is still waiting on an outside approval is not advertised until it is confirmed.

Every guide is written for the people who run devices and reviewed for accuracy before it publishes. We explain how each platform is managed and why, name the setting and the standard, and say plainly what Purple MDM does not do: there is no remote screen sharing and no antivirus. When a reader reports an error, we correct it and note the change.
