Every surgery's devices encrypted, patched and managed from one place

A practice group runs reception PCs, surgery workstations, clinicians' laptops and a check-in iPad in every site, with a practice manager rather than an IT team. Purple MDM encrypts and patches them all, times updates for after the last appointment, and keeps the evidence information governance asks for.

What you are up against

Clinical systems on practice PCs, and nobody to look after them

  • The surgery PC

A workstation that updates itself mid-clinic, or fails on a Monday morning, is a waiting room full of patients.
  • Patient data everywhere

Clinicians' laptops, reception PCs and the practice iPad all touch patient records, and few are provably encrypted.
  • Growing by acquisition

Each new practice arrives with its own devices and its own habits, and the group has one person to sort it out.

FAQ

Questions we hear from teams like yours

Can we stop surgery PCs updating during clinics?

Yes. Update deadlines and deferrals are set per group, so surgery devices update after the last appointment.

Do we need an IT person in each practice?

No. Settings are forms, known fixes send themselves, and the practice manager can use the self-service catalog. Many practice groups have their IT partner run Purple MDM from the partner portal.

How do we bring a newly acquired practice under control?

Import its device list from Jamf, Intune or JumpCloud, or enroll its devices by link, and apply the group's baseline in waves.

Can we prove encryption to information governance?

Yes. Compliance reports over time list encryption status per device, and the audit log records every recovery key view.
